I'm Jake Whiting

I've spent nearly 15 years in commercial finance - first in underwriting, preparing borrower credit presentations for decision makers, and then in business banking, working with businesses across a wide range of industries.

What I've seen repeatedly is this: solid businesses struggling with the financing process—not because they weren’t viable, but because expectations were often misaligned between the business and the bank.

On one hand, most owners are focused on running their operation.  Bank debt is simply viewed as the cost of sustaining and growing their business. Banks, on the other hand, view money lended out as an asset that must be protected. As a result, their primary motive is to manage risk, tighten structure, and ensure repayment. When those two perspectives don’t line up, deals stall, get declined, or get approved with a structure that is less than ideal.

I created CapReady to bridge the gap. My role is to help business owners understand how lenders think, how decisions are made, and how to present their business in a way that aligns with those expectations.
